Waffled French Toast
Ingredients
1/3 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup milk
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup margarine
Day-old bread
Preheat waffle iron
Mix nuts, sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and set aside.
Mix eggs in a shallow bowl, and then blend in milk and salt.
Butter both sides of bread, and then dip both sides into egg mixture.
Place on piece of bread in waffle iron, and sprinkle with about 2 tsp of
cinnamon mixture. Close waffle iron and bake until bread is golden brown.
Repeat with each piece of bread. Servings: 10
