Diagonal Squares

This is another easy block that
makes use of leftover scraps of fabric.
This block is just made up of
two units - a
4-Patch, and a larger
Square.
Again,
Value is of
more importance than color. This quilt can be made very
scrappy. None of the prints or colors need to be the same, as
long as they are the same value.
What is important in this block
is that you place the 4-Patches so that the darker fabrics make a
diagonal line.
I wanted to make use of my
3-inch and 6-inch Squares. I made the 4-Patch from my 3-inch
squares. It finished at 5 1/2 -inches raw.
So I trimmed down my 6-inch
squares to 5 1/2 inches so they would join with the 4-patches.
Sew the units together as
in the picture above.
This makes a fast, easy, and
frugal quilt.
