Home-Made Recipes For Fresh Breath

By Mary Rogers

Bad breath or halitosis can be totally gross and humiliating! For sure, this is one condition you do not want to be inflicted with. However, if you are unfortunate to have it, you must find a cure for it --- and fast!

There are over-the-counter medications that can cure you of this rather confidence-damaging disorder, but they can be very expensive. Fortunately, there are cheaper, and more natural alternatives to these OTC meds. In fact, you can even cure bad breath using stuffs you find in your own kitchen or backyard.

Often, the cause of halitosis is poor oral and dental hygiene. As such, regular and frequent brushing of teeth and tongue is essential. If you run out of toothpaste, you can use baking soda to brush your teeth with. Simply dip your toothbrush into the baking soda, and brush your teeth as you normally would.

After brushing, use a dental floss for your teeth. Flossing removes food particles that lodge in between the teeth that ordinary brushing alone cannot remove. This keeps plaque from developing, thereby preventing the accumulation of bacteria that cause the characteristic bad odor of halitosis.

When you’re done brushing and flossing your teeth, follow it up with mouthwash. The best mouthwash does not necessarily mean it has to be store-brought. Actually, you can make your own mouthwash at home. Just mix a cup of lukewarm water and baking soda, or a cup of lukewarm water and salt or half a lemon juice, and gargle bad breath away.

Another home product you can use as a toothpaste or mouthwash is tea tree oil. Just place a few drops of the oil on your toothbrush alone or over your regular toothpaste. Tea tree oil is also good for gum health. If gum problems make your breath stink, tea tree oil may just be your solution to bad breath.

If you have mint leaves at home, chewing on them after eating offensive-smelling foods can make your breath naturally fresh.

Other remedies you can make at home:

Home Remedies for Bad Breath with Unripe Guava:
Because of the richness in tannic, malic, phosphoric acids and calcium of this fruit this is considered good in gums and teeth. These helps alleviate bleeding of gums that also cause bad breath.

Treat Bad Breath with Avocado:
This fruit removes intestinal decomposition, which causes bad breath too.

Natural Treatments for Bad Breath with Parsley:
Make a mixture of Parsley and use it as a mouthwash for bad breath:

• Boil 2 cups of water, sprigs of chopped parsley and three ground cloves. The mixture should be stirred occasionally while cooling, strained and use a number of times a day.

Natural Treatments for Bad Breath with Fenugreek Seeds:
Tea made from the seed of this vegetable is proven effective on curing bad breath.

• Prepare this for bad breath by putting one teaspoon seeds in one liter cold water then simmer it for 15 minutes in low fire. Strained and drink as a tea.

Natural Remedies to Treat Bad Breath with Sunflower Seeds:
Eat a handful of these seeds and drink a glass of water in order to treat bad breath. You would not even notice that you ate anything.

Treat Bad Breath Naturally with Baking Soda:
All you have to do in order to treat bad breath with baking soda is dissolved it in water and use this as mouthwash it also cleans your tongue.

With these home-made recipes, you can have fresher breath any time of the day.
