What do all of these things have in common?
They can all be sources of stress for today's busy mom.
It doesn't matter where she lives...whether she's rich or
poor...what her circumstances might be. She still has to
deal with these everyday stresses.
She needs Stress Busters!
Stress Busters are a fun way to look at managing your busy
lifestyle. Instead of letting everyday hassles get you down,
have you yelling at your kids, or give you another
stress-induced headache, Stress Busters are a way to get on
top of your frustrations and, once and for all, make things
better.
Now, don't get me wrong. Stress Busters cannot solve all
your problems!
But wouldn't it be nice to have a schedule that runs
smoothly? How would you feel if you regularly accomplished
your daily tasks instead of always feeling like a moving
target?
Stress Busters are simple and here's the (shhhh) secret
ingredient.
Tools.
That's right, tools.
Let's think about this for a minute. Would you try to drive
down the freeway without a car? Would you do your office
work without a computer? So what makes you think that you
can just wish for everyone in your household to magically
keep your home clean and it will work? Hey, if it does work,
please email me and tell me YOUR secret!
For most of us mere mortals, however, tools are vital to the
success of our daily lives. That's where Stress Busters come
in. For example...
Tired of it being five o'clock p.m. each day and you have no
idea what's for dinner? Do you long for an occasional
home-cooked meal? Are you spending too much on take-out
meals each month?
Well, using a Stress Busters strategy, you can change all
that. You can do an online search for meal planning ideas,
jotting down your favorite suggestions. What? Don't have
time to do this? You do realize, don't you, that you are
LOSING time each and every day you don't have a plan for
dinner?
Listen, you can do some upfront self-education, spend some
time researching tools (like recipes, once-a-month cooking
strategies, co-op cooking, meal planning software and the
like), spend a few minutes over the next few weeks trying
out tools and ideas to find what works best for your family
and tame this dinnertime beast forever.
Stress Busters. Pretty cool, huh?
Let's tackle another one. Career stresses. Perhaps you
genuinely DO need a raise. Or maybe you'd love to change
careers, but are convinced you could never pull it off.
Maybe you need more flextime due to family needs, but you
don't know how to approach your boss.
Using the Stress Busters' philosophy, you now know what to
do. You will not spend one more minute wishing, whining or
frustrated. You will get to work. What types of tools will
you need to solve career stresses? Sometimes information is
all you need. Do another online search for, say, flextime,
and see what other people have done to help themselves. If
you want to change jobs, there's a ton of information
online. You can also go to the library or a local community
college and ask about career change information. Find an
online forum of folks in the industry you are interested in
and politely ask them a few questions. Generally speaking,
people love to help!
Of course, you could do career testing, additional education
courses, or a long-term career-development plan. These are
all Stress Buster ideas. And by now you've probably figured
out that Stress Busters go by another name, too.
Action.
That's not really a secret either, but it's amazing how many
people 'know' they should take action, but don't.
And so nothing changes for them. And the stress keeps
mounting up.
The choice is yours, busy mom. You can continue to be
plagued by your daily stresses or you can rise up and take
control. Taking control will cost you much less time,
effort, and hair-pulling in the long run.
Don't believe me? Take a little action every day and see for
yourself.
