Quick and Easy Cheese Sauce

By Nikki Willhite

Most homemakers make pasta at least once a week to save money. Here is my recipe for cheese sauce. For some reason kids seem to prefer Macaroni and cheese from the box. I think it tastes much better made from scratch, when the cheese is thick and creamy, and the macaroni melts in your mouth. This sauce can be used on potatoes, or vegetables.

Cheese Sauce

2 Tablespoons butter or margarine
2 Tablespoons Flour
1 Cup Milk
Cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese (grated)- be sure and buy SHARP
Salt and Pepper to taste.

Melt the butter and then stir in the flour, mixing so that no lumps form. Remove from heat, and add the milk. Replace on your stove, and stir until thick. Again, remove from stove, and stir in cheese. Stir until melted. Add salt and pepper to taste.
